LP Announces Expanded Scope of UL-Listed 2-Hour Wall Assemblies with LP® FlameBlock® Fire-Rated Oriented Strand Board Sheathing®

Through recent successful R&D testing - using LP® OSB panels and Barrier's Pyrotite® technology, the scope of current UL 2 hour interior burn wall assembly - U349 (Click to view) was expanded to allow the use of fiberglass insulation in addition to the original mineral wool insulation to allow flexibility and competitive pricing options. In addition, a new UL listing - W408 (Click to view) was added as a one-hour exterior burn rating. The overall goal achieved from this R&D testing project was to add more options for architects, engineers and builders of multi-story mixed used commercial buildings and zero-lot line construction.
