Pictures from Pepperdine University

The lake in front of Pepperdine University is being used in the fight against the deadly wildfires in Southern California. Take a look at these incredible pictures sent to us by a longtime friend of Barrier.

The out of control blazes have already killed 1, injured 21 firefighters and at least 24 civilians. Nearly 1,300 homes have been destroyed and the damage estimates are up to $1 Billion. Fire is such a destructive natural disaster, that when conditions are right, spreads uncontrollably destroying most everything in its path. Barrier is proud to have an environmentally friendly product designed to prevent ignition, slow the spread of fire, and protect people and property from the devastation fire can cause.Fire-rated sheathing, town homes, multi-family construction, housing market, small cap, otcbb, ibtgf, barrier, blazeguard, mycoguard, fire-rated paint, intumescent paint, mold, mildew, fire-retardant plywood, frt, sips, structurally insulative panels, fire-rated wall assemblies, commercial modular, modular home construction, green building products, LEED,

Deadly Wildfire In Southern California

Over the weekend, more than a dozen wildfires have engulfed Southern California - killing one, injuring dozens, forcing thousands out of their homes, and causing already more than "double digit" millions in damages. The blaze is zero percent contained at this point, due to high winds. It is expected to continue burning for several more days. At that point, thousands of homes will have been threatened.

Blazeguard Fire-Rated Sheathing is now an approved option under the recently adopted California Building Code for use in multi-family roof deck applications. Blazeguard releases water upon the heat of the fire to cool the surface and curtails the development and spread of fire. Blazeguard was designed to protect people and property from fire.Fire-rated sheathing, town homes, multi-family construction, housing market, small cap, otcbb, ibtgf, barrier, blazeguard, mycoguard, fire-rated paint, intumescent paint, mold, mildew, fire-retardant plywood, frt, sips, structurally insulative panels, fire-rated wall assemblies, commercial modular, modular home construction, green building products, LEED,

New Market for Blazeguard Technology

Recent adoption of the ICC in the State of California has expanded Barrier's potential sales in that region. Another example of new fire-rated requirements in California is control rooms. Every commercial control room and some large residential complex control rooms are required to have fire-rated backing board 3/4" thick or better behind their electrical panels.

As the list of application opportunities for Blazeguard continues to grow, the more likely a builder is to select Blazeguard to meet all of the fire-rated requirements in their building project.

We are excited to be moving into the California market full steam with Wayne Crutchfield, our sales rep and Bear Forest Products, our wholesaler, leading the way.Fire-rated sheathing, town homes, multi-family construction, housing market, small cap, otcbb, ibtgf, barrier, blazeguard, mycoguard, fire-rated paint, intumescent paint, mold, mildew, fire-retardant plywood, frt, sips, structurally insulative panels, fire-rated wall assemblies, commercial modular, modular home construction, green building products, LEED,

Under supply of rental property in the near future

There were recent articles published (NBN Online and the Wall Street Journal) that have the same general prediction - the lack of new construction of rental property over the past few years is going to result in a higher demand than available supply. With it still taking between 2-3 years to complete new multifamily projects, and the Echo Boom Bulge - baby boomer offspring entering the prime renting age will lead to a shortage in available rental property in some locations. In addition, in high-price cities, apartment owners seem to be benefiting from renters who are being denied jumbo mortgages (more than $417,000). In cities like San Fransisco and New York, rent is going up around 3.5% and the vacancy rate dropped .2% on average for the nation.

As this type of building does start to increase, Barrier will be working to ensure builders in this arena are aware of Blazeguard Fire-Rated Sheathing, it's competitive advantages and the fact it exceeds the challenging technical specifications for fire-resistance required by the International Building Code.Fire-rated sheathing, town homes, multi-family construction, housing market, small cap, otcbb, ibtgf, barrier, blazeguard, mycoguard, fire-rated paint, intumescent paint, mold, mildew, fire-retardant plywood, frt, sips, structurally insulative panels, fire-rated wall assemblies, commercial modular, modular home construction, green building products, LEED,
