Roofing Market to Rise in the West

Western Roofing Insulation and Siding's January/February 2007 magazine published an article on "Roofing to Rise in the West". The predicted business improvement for 2007 ranges from low of 2.7% improvement in California to a high of 11.7% in Nevada. Barrier's listing for Blazeguard products under the International Code Council (ICC) in 2005 has put them in a prime position to take advantage of this predicted growth.

To what extent have you sought cooperation with the home insurance industry in seeking preferential rates for those structures that have blazeguard products?

Currently, Blazeguard is typically used in multi-family construction in accordance with the regional code requirements. We have had conversations with a few large insurers to make them aware of our product and its benefits. Our current research and development work is focused on wall assemblies to be used in residential single family as well as multifamily applications. At that time, we will be more interesting to the insurers.
